Final Event Barcelona Dades Obertes Challenge Third edition 2020

Following the success of the first edition, next Wednesday, May 8, the event will be held in the Fabra i Coats Creation Factory in the city of Barcelona final presentation of the works and delivery of prizes from the Barcelona Challenge Open Data Second edition 2019 >.

This year it is expected to attend more than 200 students from the centers who they have participated in this year's edition, together with the teachers who have supervised them. It will also be attended by staff of the organizing bodies and responsible for the datasets published on the Open Data BCN portal as well as other people interested in this innovative initiative.

We are preparing an entertaining and participatory event, with video conferencing interventions by different agencies worldwide.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the event will be the presentation of the projects to be done by the students representing the finalist centers . They will have 5 minutes to defend their work in front of the jury , composed by experts related to the world of the data.

3 prizes will be awarded consisting of an experience in a company specialized in data analysis in which they will be able to discover and learn how the data is used to solve and solve real problems.

This prize will be enjoyed by all students in the winners' class.

All the infographics presented in the competition will be displayed in the space specifically enabled. It's about being able to see and recognize the hard work and effort of all the participants.

The Barcelona Open Data Challenge has as its The main objective is to promote the use of open data in schools in the city as a new resource, strengthening the analytical and critical view of students and also empowering them with new technological tools. This competition places Barcelona as a leader in introducing knowledge of open data in the educational field.

The purpose of this event is to allow the centers to share the projects and the methodology used for their development. Students analyzed their environment with the information available on the Open Data BCN proposed improvement actions that they will defend.
